No, we don’t have a dress code. Dress is nice casual. While jackets are not required,
many men do wear jackets, others are more casual. Come however you are most comfortable.

How accessible is the restaurant to the handicapped or elderly?

The ground floor dining rooms  and bathrooms are wheelchair accessible. We do have a second floor which is accessed only by the stairs. If you or someone in your party needs to be on the ground floor, please let us know when making your reservation. We’ll be happy to accommodate you.

What type of food do you serve?

We serve contemporary American cuisine with influences from around the world.

Are reservations required?

Reservations are not required but are highly recommended especially for dinner and holidays. “Walk-ins” are always welcome and will be seated as soon as possible. Sundays and lunches are rarely a problem.

Can I bring my own wine?

We are a licensed purveyor of wines and spirits with a full bar and wonderful cocktails. And we are proud of our award winning wine list -- 25 wines by the glass and 400 selections with more than 50 wines priced at $50 or less. You are welcome to bring a special bottle with you and there is a $25 corkage fee for that service.

Do you have a tasting menu?

Yes we have several tasting menus. For dinner both feature local product as much as possible. The 3-Course Frugal Farmer Menu , $32 was introduced in 2009 as the menu for budget conscious times.  We keep it because everyday dining appeals to many. A more upscale 5-Course Tasting Menu is offered for $59, with wine for $105.  Both change seasonally.  Also, on Friday and Saturday nights during Theater Season in New Brunswick we have a $42 Pre-Theater Menu .  For lunch there are $10.50 and $25 Prix Fixe options in addition the regular ala carte menu.  All can be viewed on the menus section of our web site. In addition, contact one of our managers and we will be happy to arrange a special tasting menu for you personally.

I have food allergies. Can you accommodate me?

YES!  It is essential for guests to inform their server of any food allergies as not every ingredient in a dish is listed on the menu.  Even if you informed us when you made the reservation, please follow up with the server so that he can communicate your allergies to the chef and provide you with an outstanding meal that is safe for you to eat.

I am on a special diet.  Is there anything I can eat?

YES!  Chef Bruce Lefebvre and his staff are happy to alter a menu preparation to accommodate dietary needs.  Advance notice is helpful but not necessary.  We encourage our guests to talk to their server about their particular dietary needs.

Do you have vegetarian offerings on your menu?

Yes! We have several selections that are made without meat, poultry or fish.  Some do have dairy.  The Chef is willing and able to accommodate special requests as well as to alter preparations to suit a vegetarian or vegan preference.  Advance notice is helpful but not necessary.  We encourage our guests to talk to their server about their particular dietary needs.

Have you always been in the same location?

Yes. The neighborhood has changed but our location hasn’t.

Are you affiliated with any other restaurants?

No, we are a single unit restaurant.  There are two other Frog and Peach’s that we know of -- one in Mill Valley, California and one on Long Island.  We are all independently owned and operated and each of the three has different dining concept.

What are those things above the bar?

They are lanterns, spandex on an aluminum frame.  The original space at the bar felt cavernous.  The stained glass ceiling above had become dated and difficult to maintain.  We wanted the space to feel more intimate and we needed more light in the space.  We had been working with Tarantio Studio, an Architectural firm in Millstone NJ, to update our entire lighting plan.  The lanterns are part of that plan.  If you notice, looking from the bar to the back “wine wall” the lighting continues as concentric warm discs suspended from the ceiling.  Made of the same material, they tie the bar to the dining room.

Where did you get the name?

The name comes from a Dudley Moore and Peter Cook comedy routine about a restaurant that serves only frogs and peaches. When we started looking for a location for our restaurant, our original concept was to do a casual restaurant (burgers and beer) down stairs, and fine dining upstairs, calling the beer joint “The Frog” and the fancy place “The Peach.”  This isn’t how the project evolved, but people we shared the name with remembered it and it made them smile. We thought those were good attributes in a name so we chose it.
